Candy Crush Saga, the latest mobile game app which is available for android, iOS, Facebook and online has more than 62,085,632 fans/likes on FB page from all over the world. People who are crazily addictive to this game would be crushed with the new update that their favorite addictive game is battling its trademark CandyCrush Saga for Trademark infringement case.
Candy crush saga’s developer King, released this game on April 12, 2012 for FB and November 14, 2012 for Smartphone. Whereas, Albert Ransom, President (Founder) of Runsome Apps Inc, developed CandySwipe in the year 2010, in memory of his late mother who passed away at an early age of 62 of leukemia. Candy Crush Saga was released two years after CandySwipe was released.
The President of Runsome Apps Inc., recently wrote an open letter to the King.com which stated as, “Open letter to King.com who wants to cancel the registration of the CandySwipe trademark”.
In his letter, he quotes “I have spent over three years working on this game as an independent app developer. I learned how to code on my own after my mother passed and CandySwipe was my first and most successful game; it\’s my livelihood, and you are now attempting to take that away from me. You have taken away the possibility of CandySwipe blossoming into what it has the potential of becoming. I have been quiet, not to exploit the situation, hoping that both sides could agree on a peaceful resolution. However, your move to buy a trademark for the sole purpose of getting away with infringing on the CandySwipe trademark and goodwill just sickens me.”
