Trends in Indian Patent Grants (Jan’13- Dec’13)

This report identifies the Top-15 Indian Patent Grants for the year 2013. The number one patent holder of the year is none other than Samsung India Software Operation Private Limited (SISO).  In contrast CSIR comes second with 87 patents, Qualcomm Incorporated which landed in third position by gaining 84 patents.

According to a recent report in The Financial Express, India ranks 7th & China tops list of most patent applications globally.

According to the IPO journal research, 4742 patents were granted in the year 2012 & 3594 patents are granted in this year. There is a decrease around 14% in the number of patent grants from IPO.

Trends in PCT filings (Jan’13- Oct’13)

 According to WIPO report, there were 115362 PCT applications filed from January 2013 to October 2013.Among these applications, India Filed 745 PCT applications, in which Brain league filed 16 applications.
